Travelling through Rotary GSE is simply wonderful! No other way of travelling enables you to be welcomed to people's homes, see the life of the local guides and experinece your own profession in another country. I'm extremely grateful to be on this journey and to meet all the nice people we've met. I have stayed with wonderful hostfamilies and experienced so much here during two weeks!
The other side of the coin is that the long days full of programme can sometimes be tiring, especially just recovering from a jetlag. I feel sometimes my brains don't have the time to process everything I've seen and experienced here, so I think it's just about the right time now for the mid-term break which we will have in Regina. Of course, we have already filled those days, too, with programme in our minds, but above all, we just look forward to realxing and exercising.
We have now spent two days here in Neepawa, a small country-side town. Yesterday we had a visit to among others, Spring Hill Hutterite Colony, and we were hosted by some wonderful people there and we trully appreciated the gudied tour, the choirs singing and the shared meal. Now we know a lot more about the Hutterites. Yesterday we also drove around for 7h in Riding Mountain National Park and spotted deer, elk, moose, beaver and an animal we don't have in Finland, bison- those were big ones.
Today, we have had a guided drive through town, visited a home for elderly people and a church, been interviewed by the local tv-channel and enjoyed some free time looking to the stores downtown. Now we are off to the Neepawa Rotary club meeting for dinner and our presentation.
